The ICONI platform is an intuitive system that tracks, encourages, and robustly checks progression through people-led programmes. It is used by local authorities and leading employability, skills, and health providers to break the administrative burden, while quickly identifying effective interventions and next steps.
For Conwy Employment Hub, which provides employability advice, mentoring, professional and life skills training to unemployed people aged sixteen upwards, the platform has already transformed its mentors’ workflows.
As Libby Duo, Strategic Manager of Conwy Employment Hub comments: “We have a high performing team with many demands placed on them and needed a solution that wouldn’t just save time by having everything in one place but would add real value to our residents’ action plans. Having a platform that empowers the mentors and encourages them as they progress their daily task list is already having a huge impact. Everything is easier, more connected, so the support pathway for participants is much clearer to manage.”
The ICONI platform is specifically designed to support key transitions in participants’ journeys. From information and eligibility checking at triage stage, assigning a mentor, and identifying interventions on programme, to securing an outcome, providing in-work support, and successfully exiting provision, it is a six stage safety net, customisable to almost any requirement.
The Hub also opted for on-site training by ICONI to familiarise its mentors quickly and confidently. Delivered in Conwy over two days in September 2024, frontline managers and 25 users were onboarded, giving enthusiastic praise for the new proactive tool.
“The platform is very intuitive anyway, but we really valued having Jodie and Rachel from ICONI here to show its functionality off in full and answer our questions,” adds Libby. “The mentors immediately commented on how much easier and more effective the platform would make their jobs.
“We’ve built a professionally friendly relationship that will hopefully only grow as we embed the ICONI platform into day to day Hub operations and expand it in line with future programmes.”
Conwy Employment Hub is a one stop shop for employability in Conwy county. It is funded by the Welsh Government and hosted by Conwy County Borough Council to run the Communities for Work Plus Programme, which provides community-based, specialist employment advisory support, and intensive mentoring for people aged 20 years old or over, not in education, employment or training, with a complex barrier to employment. It can provide a wide range of support to help build confidence, gain work experience, learn new skills or re-write a CV.
